About the Artists:
Richard Devine: Considered heir to the IDM empire after Richard D. James virtual --retirement,-- Richard Devine
has been creating some of the most complexly arranged compositions and remixes for such noted labels Warp
and Schematic and artists such as Aphex Twin and Matthew Herbert. Always at the forefront of emerging trends
in technology and track arrangement, Devine is at his best in this unique amalgamation of Kero?s Bent and 26th
Birthday, clearly illustrating why he continues to be a favorite of critics and fans alike. Devine recently completed
advertising soundtracks for both Macintosh and Nike.
Apparat: Sascha Ring applies his random modulation algorithms to the sounds of Kero?s Bent. Ring who has
released a slew of LPs and Eps for not only Shitkatapult which he runs with partner Marco Haas (T. Raumschmiere),
but also Ellen Allien?s Bpitch Control label. Ring has provided remixes for Ellen Allien and recently released the
Shapemodes EP on Lee Norris? (Metamatics) Neo Ouija label.
Venetian Snares: Tipped by the BBC as experimental electronic?s --household name,-- Winnepeg?s Aaron Funk
has proved to be one of the most consistent and prolific composers of this generation, releasing in the last few years,
on a variety of labels, including Mike Paradinas? Planet Mu, more material than some artists can manage in a lifetime,
while still continuing to push the envelope beyond the [huge chrome cylinder?] box. His mÈlange of extreme and often
disturbing source materials and generic appropriations have put him in the company of IDM?s most respected names
including Aphex Twin, and Richard Devine.
I:Gor: Poland?s very own contribution to experimental/IDM culture, I:Gor continues in the tradition of such post-industrial
luminaries as Somatic Responses and Panacea, his releases on M-Tronic and Detroit-based Low Res have received
much acclaim for their break-core-esque rhythms and abrasive soundscaping, both of which can be found in this take
on Kero?s 10:48 Done which originally appeared on Detroit Underground Volume 2
Derek Michael: Derek Michael?s tracks continue in their historical dialectic with traditional rock and symphonic sources.
Crack Whores and Nitrus [sic] represents some of Michael?s finest recording to date and exemplify his current fascinations
with the ?return of the real? in the digital arts. Michael has also released tracks on Berlin based Sender Records.
